Research AreaIntitute offers Ph.D. programme in tourism management. Any person who has master degree in Tourism/ Hotel Management/ Business Administration or relevent allied subject may apply for the reaserch work. Admission is based on entrance test combindly organised by the University.

Achievements Regarding department
Institute is having a MAJOR RESEARCH PROJECT IN TOURISM , Sanctioned by University Grant Commission (UGC), New Delhi on "A Study of Growth & Development of Religious Tourism in North India with special reference to the Places of Ramayana" for the Period 2010-12. For the purpose UGC has Sanctioned Amount -Rs.5, 28,400/
Institute is publishing a Research Journal on Tourism & Hospitality named "Research Galaxy".
Institute is imparting traing to service providers like cooliis, hockers, taxi drivers, security persons in order to make city tourist friendly.
Jointly with Indian Institute of Tourism &Travel Management (IITTM),under Ministry of Tourism, Gwalior conducted a research on Accessable Tourism. Recommedations have been sent to the Ministry of Tourism , Government of India for implimentation.
Institute organises frequently Workshops , Symposiums , conferences and Seminars on National Level.
Recently A National Workshop on the "ADMINISTRATIVE CHALLENGES IN HOSPITALITY SECTOR" was organised on 20-21 December in which Prof Manoj Dixit of Lucknow University, Dr Rahul Kanagat of Gujarat Institute of Hotel Management and Prof Mahesh Chand Srivastava of A P S University and Dr ( Col) C.K. Singh of U P Technical University, Dr Rajiv Agrawal of FMCA, RBS College delivered theexpert lecture.
Another National Workshop was organised on 28-29 Dec 2010 on the theme"Marketing of Cultural Tourism with special reference to North East" . Dr Yashvant Singh of Manipur University,Prof Sandeep Kulshrestha of IITTM, Gwalior, Prof.Harimohan Sharma of K.M. Institute Dr Rajiv Agrawal of UP Technical University, Dr Geeta Mishra of Lucknow University delivered their Lecture on the theme.
Institute also organises All India Tourism youth Summit in which students from all over India share their views and get expert knowledge on particular topics which are not covered in the class rooms but are of great importance to the society.
Institute sends students to TAJ MAHOTASAVA organised by U P Tourism from 18 Feb to 27 th Feb every Year, as volunteer where they work as team member of Organising Committee.
In association with National Adventure Foundation the Institute organises ADVENTURE CAMP for the students.
