About Department
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar- Chair (Professorship) was created in the University on 25th May, 1997. The Department of Contemporary Social Studies and Law was established in the Chair and P.G. Diploma Courses of Human Rights and Duties, Labour Laws, International Law and Constitutional Law were started successfully since the session 2000-2001 .A Post Graduate Course in Human Rights and Duties (LL.M ) is also running successfully since the year 2002. The Chair also proposes to introduce four new P.G. Diploma Courses in Cyber Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Environmental Law & P.G. Diploma in Ambedkar Studies. The Center has been a pioneer in promoting teaching and research in Law, Human Rights, thoughts and movement of Dr. Ambedkar. It aims to provide teaching support to University Departments by introducing newer topics on social justice.
Dr.B.R. Ambedkar Chair has a three storied building at Khandari, Campus having all the infrastructural facilities.
The B.R.Ambedkar Chair has a rich library on Ambedkar’s thoughts and Dalit Issues under the scheme of Ambedkar Study Centre.
Ambedkar Chair also organizes Seminar and Symposiums every year.
